About Pastor Kelley

Rev. Dr. David L. Kelley II Sr. Pastor of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, embarked on his ministerial journey in 1972. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he received his license and ordination to preach at his father's church, led by the late Rev. David Kelley Sr.

Dr. Kelley pursued his educational qualifications to serve in ministry. He completed his undergraduate studies at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, and obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. In 1994, his thirst for knowledge led him to earn a doctorate from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

In 1982, Dr. Kelley founded Christ Fellowship Baptist Church in Brooklyn, emphasizing the importance of a strong spiritual foundation. As the pastor, he has faithfully served the congregation for over thirty-seven years. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant

growth in membership, and he continues to nurture their spiritual development. The grand opening of the "Blue Church of Brooklyn" in February 2010 stands as a testament to their blessings and remains a beacon of hope in the community.

Beyond his role as a pastor, Dr. Kelley is highly sought after as a lecturer, teacher, preacher, revivalist, and workshop leader. He has shared the message of God's love across the city, nation, and internationally. His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, awards, citations, scholarships, and fellowships, including being featured in "Who's Who Among American Young Men" and receiving the Benjamin E. Mays Fellowship for Theological Education.

In his personal life, Dr. Kelley takes pride in his family. He is happily married to Kim Marie Wynn and together they have raised three remarkable children: two daughters named Danielle and Ashley, and a son named Aaron. They also cherish their daughter-in-law, Nekia, and grandson, Jeremiah.
